Jewelry: Its In The Bag!

Although it doesn't look like much, this little bundle of fabric and ribbon packs a big punch when traveling with your jewelry! I've given plenty of these as gifts with friends for various holidays and occasions with a pair of earrings or a necklace to rave reviews! Each one can also sit on your dresser or night stand at home to hold all of your "every day" jewelry that often gets left lying around after the day's wear.

They are $15/ea. and I can do them in any color combination (to match a bedroom or a bag) and in multiples (think bridesmaids!). I will have more photos of these soon, as I have a few orders to do! Email me if you are interested and we can talk fabric - which of course if my favorite thing to talk these days!

JLR Touch a Truck Tomorrow!

I'll be at the Junior League of Richmond Touch a Truck event tomorrow from 10 am - 2 pm tomorrow! Rain or shine - good thing I now have a tent! Hope to see you there!

Its Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas!

Well, at least in my sewing room it is! I've been so busy sewing for a few shows lately, that I haven't had a chance to debut the Christmas Tree Skirts that are now finished and *hopefully* on their way to a new home very soon :)

The skirts in the picture are available for sale now and they are 42" dia. (email me for pricing) and come in, from right to left: Michael Miller Funky Christmas, Moda Figgy Pudding Red, Moda Figgy Pudding Blue, or City Girl Holiday. And, since no tree skirt is complete without matching stockings, I can also include 2 for the price of one with the purchase of a tree skirt!

These can be made to match any holiday color scheme! The fabrics and choices are endless for the holidays, so drop me a line if you want to discuss alternative colors and fabrics :)

Pitman a Success!

The Pitman Craft show was a great success! We had beautiful weather, which allowed for a packed event - check out the photo of the street! Mom and I also met a lot of really nice people and had a great time throughout the day! If you stopped by the booth and regret leaving without one of our handmade goodies, just email me and we can remedy the situation immediately!

Wine Bags Are Here!

Introducing Wine Bags at the show on Saturday :) Just had to post a photo - doesn't it just make you want to give someone a bottle of wine?! And, what's great - is that its a gift that is perfectly acceptable to re-gift!

Hoping for Great Weather and Fat Wallets

Heading to Jersey this weekend where Mom and I are going to give it another go at the Pitman Craft Show. Although I went last year and had a few items, as you all know, this year I've given my little venture a name and will be officially launching Love Elaine at the show! I've got a few new bag styles (pictures coming soon - I promise!) and I'm looking forward to the feedback and response. You gotta start somewhere, right?! Let's all hope for great weather and fat wallets with money to spend on Handmade Goodies :)

Pleated Bag - New!

I've created a new style of bag - the Pleated Bag! I just LOVE this new bag, and in the Aqua Terra fabric line (pictured at top), its sure to be a big hit for fall! The red and yellow bag is also super cute - thinking about making an apron out of this fabric too!

Stay tuned for more of these, as I bought some exceptionally cute Corduroy :)

Headed To The Beach

I'm headed to the beach with Mom for a fun filled week of sun, sand and SEWING! I had a great weekend trying out a few new bag styles for fall (pictures to come soon!), so this week I'm going to get ahead of those Christmas projects I've been talking about and break in my new SEWING MACHINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Can you tell I'm excited?!) I was so excited about all of its cool new features, my boyfriend thought that it would also clean the house (now that would really be a cool feature)!! See you all in a week with lots of photos of new goodies to share (and a tan)!!!

Bow-Tucks Tote Bag

Latest completed bag in Natural Effects fabric Michelle D'Amore - one of my favorites! This pattern is so versatile, it can look completely different depending on the fabric! Here is another recent bag I've completed for a customer that requested pink & black fabrics.

Birdie Sling

One of my favorite bag patterns, The Birdie Sling by Amy Butler, is great for toting just about anything around anywhere. I recently took mine to Broad Appetit, and it did great! It can also be used as a beach bag that can easily hold a beach towel, book, magazine, sunscreen, etc. There is also a pocket on the inside for keys and cell phones you do not want to get lost in the bottom! The bag shown is made with heavy weight fabric and has a coordinating plaid lining fabric.

What's In a Name

When thinking of a name for my new venture, lots of names were thrown into the pot. I wanted a name that would suit me and the items I make - smart, sassy and personal!

Elaine is my middle name, however, it is also the middle name of all the women in my immediate family - my mom, both grandmothers, and my sister. In the case of Love Elaine, Love isn't meant to be a sign off. Love is my grandmother's maiden name.

By combining the two names, I wanted to honor both of my Grandmother's and their special talents. Grandma is great with her hands and can make anything with a needle and thread! She makes bags, quilts and embroiders beautifully! Mama was a dancer for many years, knows music and has an amazing way with words.

I couldn't forget my mom either - but she's far too modest to let me put Cherie in the name. Because of her, I've turned my love of fabric into something I never thought I could do by making me sign up for a bag making class over a year ago! All of her great work with quilting continues to inpire and encourage me!
